Welcome to this weeks Scavenger Hunt and I'm sure you'll be able to get Lady Di out of the hole she's in. At least it only covers a small time frame.
Good Luck and Good Hunting.

Hi Folks,
This is my last ditch effort to find anything about my great grandfather Charles Tattersall.
I know this is probably going to be the shortest Scavenger Hunt in history but I just have to try one last time.
I’m searching a short time frame from 1834 – 1857 or maybe later – most likely UK.
In summary, I’m looking for:
Charles TATTERSALL Born 1834 Brighton Sussex (or anywhere??)
Parents: Charles Tattersall and Ann Harriet Otway
The facts I have from his marriage certificate:
----------
Name: Charles Tattersall
Father’s Name: Charles Tattersall *
Father’s Occupation: Horse Breeder *
Mother’s Name: Ann Harriet Otway *
Where Born: Brighton Sussex England *
Status: Bachelor
Age: Not Given
Marriage Date: 8 November 1884
Place of Marriage: St Stephen’s C of E Newtown Sydney
Occupation: Labourer
Witnesses: Mary Tattersall + Christine (unreadable)
Spouse Name: (Louisa) Alice Aggs
----------
* - This information was added to the “official” marriage certificate from Parish Registers in 1915 by Registrar
One child born to the marriage:
His details on the childs birth certificate were:
----------
Date: 4 January 1886
Father’s name: Charles Tattersall
Occupation: (unreadable)
Age: 45
Where born: England
----------
He died in 1894:
Details from death Cert:
----------
Date: 6 Feb 1894
Name: Charles Henry Tattersall
(written underneath it says:
“known as Charles Tattersall” )
Age: 59
Father’s details: Henry Tattersall, Horse Dealer, Deceased
Mother’s details: Unknown – deceased
How long in Colony: 36 years
Where born: Brighton Sussex England
Age at marriage: 50 years
----------
His wife was the informant of his death.
If any of his recorded details are correct, it means he arrived in Australia in 1857.
Although I can’t find anything about him in Oz from 1857 – 1884, that isn’t as important as hopefully finding him on the 1841 and 1851 census somewhere in UK (or anywhere in the world for that matter).
All I’d really like is a tiny little snippet of light – something that tells me something about him or his parents and that they actually existed. (I do have my suspicions that he didn’t always tell the truth!!)
Many thanks to RootsChatters who have previously tried to find this guy but unfortunately I haven’t achieved any miracles since my first attempt.
