buried at caerlaverock   in memory of barbara jackson spouse to andrew davidson in glenhowan   also mary davidson     also captain william davidson who died at his residence at neptune park stewartry of kirkcudbright february 1848 aged 63 years also margaret bell wife of above who departed this life 6th december 1854 aged 71 years      margaret and william had 3 children that we know of    benjamin born ruthwell  margaret and rachel  born caerlaverock    csc

have just got the will of captain davidson from sp    1848 at kirkudbright court his money is 800 pounds  his executor is his grandson william davidson strong ship builder an allowance of 100 pounds yearly to his wife margaret his house and all his belongings to his grandson   he must have been very rich i dont know what that would be in todays money   csc

in 1817 william davidson was the master of augusta of dumfries bounf for nova scotia  csc

jean/jane bell was married to samuel chesney  stoneykirk  children agnes 1818 alexander 1820 james 1815 jane 1828 martha 1825 samuel 1822 susanna 1830   samuel in the later census is a master saddler employing a few people  martha and susanna are both single  martha is a publican in stoneykirk havent found rhe rest yet  csc

daughter janet died 1804 aged 17  daughter rachel and her husband are there also rachel died 1841 age 49 thomas boyd her husband died 1885 aged 80 their daughter mary 1984 aged 66 daughter janet 1912 aged 81 also elizabeth and rachel boyd grandaughters age12 and 6    also in that grave is janet edgar died 1826 aged 10  this janet was the daughter of john edgar and rachel before she met thomas boyd   rachel and thomas also had benjamin 1829 james 1837 william 1832  benjamin died cumberland 1914 jmes was a railway porter at dumfries 1901 and james was an estate labourer ruthwell 1901 csc
