Hi Pamela

welcome to RootsChat.

Annie Elizabeth Humphreys (b. 1906) married William H Jennings Apr-Jun 1926.  Some time after the birth of twins (b. ----) she left Jennings.  Did she get a divorce or was it just a separation?  Either way she could call herself Jennings or Humphreys.  She then met your Grandfather and had your Dad - at which point she could be Jennings, Humphreys or your (maiden) surname.  She then left your Grandfather.  If she then took up with yet another man she possibly adopted his surname.  So we are now looking for the death of Annie E with a choice of four surnames.  Have you tried tracing the Jennings twins: if they survive (and they are only about --) they may have kept in touch and be able to tell you when she died.  We do not publish information about living people on this site so we would not be able to help very much in tracing them if you are not in touch.

All the best

Gobbo

Hi Pamela

There's quite a few Annie Elizabeths, born 1906, indexed as dying between 1985 and 2005.  Do you know her exact date of birth (that is included in the index).

http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk
shows William Henry Jennings and Annie Elizabeth married at Birkenhead, St Paul in 1926, and also freebmd lists another couple of possible children, b. in ---- and ----.

http://www.1911census.co.uk/
shows an Annie Elizabeth Humprheys in Birkenhead b. about 1906.

Going sideways (looking at her siblings and where they ended up) might help you - her children from her marriage to William Henry Jennings might have been taken care of by family members, or she might have got back in contact with her family in later life.

I removed father's details because his year of birth was recent even though it was clearly explained that he was deceased.
