parish records for the marriage:
Sunderland Holy Trinity Church
31 Oct 1821 David Rees, of this parish married Elizabeth Scott, of this parish

It seems to be a bit early for them to be John's parents if he was born 1840, but not impossible

If you were to get the marriage cert for John Reece to Catherine Ann Baxter, it should show his father's name and occupation

You could look through the bishops' transcripts for Sunderland free on this website to check for baptisms and marriages

hi everyone, update on the k.g.h. medals ; three medals + attendance ribbon, are to do with the r.a.o.b., common name [ the buffs] , it appears that k.g.h. is an offshoot that society, try google search, type in  g.u.o.k.g.h.  click search, and on the web page, click history,  on the k.g.h. page,  scroll down to the three medals, 1st 2nd 3rd degree, they are exactly the same as the ones i have. thanks khonalan.

hi everyone, possible explanation robert rees nephew, or why he was living with the wayman family. roberts mother was catherine ann baxter, her mother was ann wayman, poss born 1804, married david baxter, 23 feb 1836, monkwearmouth, burial, 1879, sunderland. father, robson wayman, mother, mary scott,   seems odd that david reece b. abt 1797, married a elizabeth scott. thanks khonalan.

Hi
It does not look as if anyone can help with this at the moment.   It might be best to leave this one for a while.  Bumping posts, as you are doing, is not encouraged on rootschat.
As you have the Dewey number for the books surely your best bet is to contact the library and ask them to look.  Or maybe order them through the inter library loan service?
Regards
Andrea

Hi all, I have this info based on the 1861 census which shows Robert Race (Reece) wife Elizabeth an Isabella(relation 9y)
My notes on this are as follows.:-
Should be Reece.
Isabella is Elizabeths step niece.
Elizabeth was dau. of John Marrington b.1796*, by his first wife Martha Fairlam.
Isabella was dau. of John Donnison Marrington b.1818, son of John 1796* and his second wife Elizabeth Donnison.
I have researched this fam. but am uncertain if they are related to me, although my line does come from Sunderland.
Hope it of help (plenty more)  Fred
