Hello Jan

That would be great if you could check both parishes for me if necessary.

Many thanks.  :)

Hello Jan,

Could you please check on a marriage between John Potter and Ann Burtenshaw on 25 Apr 1791 at Upper Beeding and see if there is any information regarding witnesses and if they were both of that parish. I believe their son James was baptised on 31 July 1791.  Also is there any evidence that they had any other children in that parish or burials for any of them.
I am trying to establish whether John and Ann were from local families or if they came from Lewes or another parish.
Many thanks
Flavia

Hi Jan
Any chance of a look up in Bolney register for Jesse Gander born c1827?   Wondering if he is a son of William and Mary who have daughters baptised there around that time.  He is with them in 1841 but listed after the servants!
Thanks
Andrea

Hi Stovepipe

This is what actually happened in Sullington on 27th Feb 1786

John Burchell bach otp to Susan Searle sp otp by banns Susan signed and John made his mark

and

James Searle otp to Sarah Burchell otp (condition not specified) by banns both made their mark

Both marriages were witnessed by Geo Hayler and James Wood both signed

A sister and a brother marrying a brother and a sister? Happened a lot with my Carvers and Birds but never on the same day.
