John Pearle's Will (Part 3)COMPLETE - THANKS
« on: Sunday 17 May 09 11:50 BST (UK) »
Again, I throw myself on the mercy of all you clever transcribers, as I once again come upon a piece in the Will of John Pearle with which I am struggling.
Those of you who have followed the posts will know that John Pearle left his wife, Susan, the use of the bedding, brass etc, for her lifetime.  He also gave her five milking cows and a paddock in which to keep them.
In the next bit (most of which I can read) he divvies up various pieces of land which he owns.  However, in the following extract (below) there is mention of Thomas Pearle(from whom I am descended) who died in 1649 - a few years before this Will was made, and I can't make out whether or not John Pearle the elder made any provision for his grandchildren through Thomas.  If not, it might explain why one side of the family prospered and the other side ended up as Ag Labs!

Once again, many thanks for any help you can give.
Regards,
Greensleeves

Hi Roger

Thank you very much for that, Roger; though I've no idea either as to the precise meaning..... But it certainly doesn't look as though the children of the late Thomas are getting anything; more, that Thomas's widow has to pay £10 to John.  I hope she was a woman of substance, and that Thomas managed to leave her something!

Once again, many thanks for your help,
Regards,
