Date please and a clean

I'd be very grateful if ggrandfather could be dated please.  I think it might be about 1900, compared to the only other photo I have of him, but am not at all sure.

And if someone could clean him up and remove the beastie creeping up his lapel I could stop worrying about him

Great work rev, irene and genechaser!  I really do appreciate your help.   He looks much brighter now, and that beastie gone is such a relief  .  By the way rev, I hope you've been wearing your Sunday best today
