Selina EARL, Birkenhead 1901

Hi

I'm having problems locating Selina Earl, born Birkenhead 1894, in the 1901 census.  I've tried a lot of name variants - can anyone find her, or suggest something I might have missed?

best wishes

Paul

Hi Paul
Bit of a mystery this one, usual reasons are that they have changed their name IE mother married again, so checked all Selina's in Birkenhead of around the right age, and then tried to find a marriage of an Earl to a male that matches, no luck. Even checked the death records, again nothing, I think you may need a birth certificate for this one.

Thank you Peter, I appreciate your assistance with this.
I have Selina in my tree marrying in the 1920's, and I have found her birth in freebmd.
I suppose her mother could easily have remarried, and its possible she had a middle name that she is lurking under!
I think you are right and the birth cert is the only route forward.

best wishes
