Ages were sometimes rounded down, I wouldnt be too concerned over the differences.

Wasn't Henry shown as 49 in 1881 (and 65 in 1891)?  :P

1871
RG10/2825 82 11
Mill Meece, Staffordshire
Cotes Heath

Henry Freikley, head, 45, Ag lab, b. Mill Meece
Katherine, wife, 50, b. Bridgeford
Caroline, dau, 8, scholar, b. Eccleshall

(David and Esther are in service).

Yes Daffodilval - looks quite possible, I'd say.

Sorry Lydart - but he'll probably come in handy somewhere too!  :D

Catherine's first husband was a Henry Leese - I wonder if they had other children apart from William*?

Marriage from the IGI at www.familysearch.org

Catharine Haywood - Henry Leese
28 November 1842
Seighford, Staffordshire

Catherine Lees is in service at Stafford St Mary in 1851, a 30 years old widow. (HO107/1999 307 2)

I agree this isn't much help with Shadrach  :P

*answering my own question by yes. Catherine's parents Richard and Mary Haywood have 3 grandchildren staying with them in 1851: John, Elizabeth and Harriet Leese. Shout if you want the details.
