there are only 11 houses in salmons lane now. There are no Hanleys living on the lane. But there are hanly's living in the area. I will ask regarding this Hanley you mention and revert. Do you have anymore connecting surnames ?

Agnes married Thomas William Martin from Staffordshire, UK , Annie Maria married John Joseph Hafey possibly from Wales and William married an Ellen O'Sullivan who I believe did come from Ireland but whether it was Roscommon or not I do not know unfortunately.  Thanks for your help. Ljay

do you have William's birth record? Family Search has a likely baptism here  and a possible birth index .

There are a couple of Anne's but no Annie Maria or similar. You could apply for a birth certificate using the parents' names which may support William's origins.

Hi - thanks for your response.  I found the listings for William on Family Search and got what I think was his death certificate from Rhode Island which showed his parents as having been born in Ireland (although his quoted age was slightly wrong).  Would I be able to obtain a copy of the birth certificate from Dublin by quoting the Family search details? Ljay
