Well, seems to be the same wife and family in 1841  :-\

With 4 older children and Frederick a Tomkins  :-\

Have I assumed wrongly William and Frances were married  :-\

I think we must be talking two different families here with minimal info given on each.
I was looking exactly the same as you, Mum, and found the same result (just I'm a bit slower!)

I think this must be the Francis:

Yep  -  I've just found them too, except I think it says they were all born Pitchley  :-\

Hi I am searching for edward henry tomkins born in staffordshire in 1839 or 40 he called himself henry all his life and named his first born son william george henry tomkins ,are you able to help find his parents please? he died  in australia in 1894 . cheers colin

This one, headed 1851 census, has been completed for Ned, I believe.

If you are looking for a birth then make sure you check FreeBMD before posting, also advise if you have checked on censuses for a place of birth (if he was still ni England), plus do you know when he went to Australia?

yes he was in australia ,went to new zealand for 2 years and then settled in victoria australia ,he died in australia in 1894 aged 54 yrs makes him born 1839 ish ,I have his death certificate copy and his parents are unknown, but on his son williams birth cert he has staffordshire as his birth place ,I have checked ancestry I am subscribed also every other free site .cheers colin
