Mary,
I have the marriage certificate of Jane and Edward Green, Oct, 1887,
her father is stated as William Jackson, Potter, and Edwards father is
Herbert Green, Potter.
Janes age is given as 18, she would have been 17, and it is hard to decipher
Edwards age, but looks like 24.
One of the witnesses is Minnie Etta Jackson, I believe her younger sister,
although she would have been only about 16, and William .....something rose
as in Penrose, unreadale, can't connect that name.
They married at Cobridge Church, parish of Burlsem, Stoke on Trent, fits with
the memory of her being born in the Potteries, both she and Edward Green are
listed as Potters.
There is also a death for an infant Edward Green the year after 1888, which
makes me think she may have been pregnant at that age.
I am hoping that if Martha b. 1892 is her child, that she survived, in the late
1950's my Mum received a letter from Canada from a lady claiming to be her
half sister, didn't seem too interested, but I was about 12 at the time, corresponded with her for a while, exchanged photo's etc., and then lost
touch, the only thing I remember is that they lived in Ontario, a very vague
recollection of her name being Martha, of course she was married with children and grandchildren herself then.
Thanks for your interest, and help, much appreciated, morning from Aus
Regards
Norma.
