CRONIN FAMILY OF EGREMONT
« on: Thursday 28 May 09 13:31 BST (UK) »
Please could someone help me to help a friend.
She is looking for a Thomas Cronin 1845 Ireland who appears on the 1881 IGI household record with Sarah his wife born 1849 Whitehaven and son Francis born June 1877 Whitehaven District 10b 685. So far no trace of a marriage. Francis we have found buried at Egremont in 1958.
Thomas may have a brother (or son ) born 1863 called Francis who married a Mary !!
Any other census information would be brilliant.

Thank You
Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Have you ruled out this marriage? (Given that Thomas and Sarah appear to be already married on the 1871 census)

Thomas Cronin to possibly Sarah Jane Atkinson
Jun 1869 Whitehaven 10b 849

Thank you.  That looks like the correct marriage.
Any trace of him before 1871 or the other Francis born about 1863 (possibly Ireland again)

Thank You.

Just found a christening record for Sarah Jane Atkinson - 3 June 1849 Holy Trinity with a mother Mary Ann Atkinson.  Could anyone look them up on the 1851 census for me to trace her mothers parents.
Thank You Very Much.

Hi Down Under.

Thank you very much. From having no information its amazing what is found.

I have seen a death entry for Dec 1870 - Francis Cronin 1870 age 64 (so born 1806 - possibly Ireland)  I feel sure this will be the father of Thomas - would some kind person try this avenue for me & see if appears on the 1851 census.

Thanks again - your all terrific.
