It's  "Ostler"........looked after horses.

Yep 'Ostler' but also Groom - looked after horses at 'changes' with the horses on route for long distances.

even more interesting i wonder if it was a horse racing stables but not sure if they had that in the channel islands late 1800s early 1900s david
