Finding the Leat family
« on: Saturday 30 May 09 13:56 BST (UK) »
Hi
Does anyone have any Leat's in there family tree's ?
Mine originate from Bath Somerset and spread to Stoke on Trent and London, my confirmed start is from John Leat 1814 born Bath and then lived in Nottingham and ended up in Stoke on Trent, married to Sarah Southern, he was a Master Tailor.
Would love to hear from any Leat's out there.

Hi Millie - click on the 'Surnames' button - in the line of links with leaves ..... you may find someone else with that name.

Hi Millie :)

There are several people with John Leat, born 1814 in their Trees on Ancestry ;D Most of them are private though.
Do you have access?

Trish

Hi Trish
Thank's for that.
Yes, I do have access to Ancestry, so one of the John's is mine.
I thought I would give Roots Chat a go, it might bring up something new.

Fair enough Milllie :)

Maybe someone will have access to Parish Records. Maybe a posting on the Somerset board asking for info on John Leats baptism.

Cheers,
trish
