SMYTH, Charles. Dublin c1880
« on: Wednesday 23 February 05 22:51 GMT (UK) »
Time for my yearly appeal for help with the brick wall that is my ggfather, Charles SMYTH. I know very little about him, only what is written on his son Frederick's wedding certificate.
He is described as an Artist / Picture Dealer and we believe he was in the Dublin area about 1880, he may well have been born there. I don't know his wifes name or where he lived and is buried.
Frederick came to England in 1881 and settled in Liverpool, from then on he is well documented, but of his life in Ireland I have nothing.
There is a family connection to John DILLON MP, member for East Mayo, Frederick was his nephew, but I am not sure how that came about.
Finally, the only other thing I do know is that they where not Catholic.
Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received !!
Thanks
