 i have the 1901 census for my great grandfather  it gives the address  where they lived  at that time  is it possible  to locate the No of this house i know it was mall lane waterford  be grateful for any help ...

There is a summary page for every street with the house number, head of household, number of occupants, number of windows, etc.  It's usually at the start of the street (on microfilm) before any individual household returns.

thank you for that information regarding the census  just for the record where was St olaves church in waterford I wouldbe grateful for any help  as my great grandparents were married there in the 1900s .

Google suggests it is in Waterford city itself.

sorry about the last reply it was not 1900 but 1880.

there's a CofI church listed in for Waterford City in Slaters (1894) as :

  St.Olive's, Peter Street
   with Rev. John Morgan DD rector
     and Rev. W. Beecher curate

I wonder if this is a typo - as St. Olave's church is referred to in the introduction... and not mentioned in the listing

The same St. Olive's, Peter st appears in Slater's of 1846

Peter St is just behind Reginalds Tower on the Quays
