Alfred George Hardy, Milwaukee Look-up please
« on: Thursday 24 February 05 20:41 GMT (UK) »
Trying to trace my Great Grandfather, Alfred George Hardy, born 22.12.1873 in Guernsey, Channel Islands. He emigrated to US arriving on 24th April 1922 aboard the "Celtic".  Next reference I can find is in the 1930 Census for Milwaukee, where he is registered as being married to "Helen". I have no details of her maiden name or date of marriage. Can anyone trace these details, and what happened to them after this date? I can find no death records.
Thanks
Ian

Since Milwaukee is the last place you know he was in the US, here are some links that may help with your research.  The 1930 census was the last one to be released in the US due to legal statutes (70 year time limit).  DO you know what port he arrived and may be able to trace a route from the port to Milwaukee using city directories.

Here is a link for vital records in Milwakee, Wisconsin.

A couple of places to dig about for your surname.
