Queensland arrivals 1911 John CLARK
« on: Saturday 13 June 09 16:31 BST (UK) »

I’m looking for the name of the ship that John Clark wife Jane and children Jane, George, Thomas and John sailed on when they immigrated to Australia from Scotland in 1911.

What the information I have is, the ship was chartered from the New Zealand Shipping Co, and sailed from the Royal Albert docks on 20 Sep 1911 and Landed 8th Nov "Queensland coast near to Brisbane".

I have looked on Find-my-Past but can’t find anything any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello  there Jessie

try  the Qld Immirgation Index's,  there are a number of John Clark arrivals listed in 1911  but as you  haven't given ages it is hard to know if any are yours.

Hi I’ve had a look the Qld Immirgation Index's but I don’t have a clue how to use it. Can you tell me how to find the 1911 arrivals for John Clark?

Thanks
Jessie.

When you click on  the link  wait for the page to load  and  then scroll down  you  will see a list of  the surname  click on  the one  that contains Clark/Clarke

then  you  will  note                      that  they run by  name not arrivals  you  will have  to look  at  the  date of arrival  to  see if your man is  there.

Please remember  this is for assisted arrivals, and We don;t know as yet if your man was an assisted immigrant or not

thanks Jenn

Hi Jenn,

Thanks I wasn’t scrolling down far enough I found the Clarks in 1911 but unfortunately none of them are mine.  These and other members of the family that immigrated were all minors from Scotland and I thought that they would have been assisted passage.

Thanks
