Deidre it is accepted that Fanny may be another form of Frances but in this case her name is Fanny.  The information on the death certificate is only as good as the knowledge of the informant.

Her name is Fanny on her marriage certificate [given by her] and every birth registration of her children in Victoria.

Hi all,

There is a 10 year gap between the UK marriage and the first birth in Victoria so one could also assume that some of the 19  Cutris children born in Greenwich in this period may also be to thhis couple.

Do you know when Thomas Joel and Fanny died?

could the 1917 death  # 14479 at  REDFERN forTHOMAS J  CURTIS parents THOMAS R  and ALICE E  be the one?

and this might definitely be fanny in Hurstville in 1919 #1810
FANNY CURTIS, parents  WILLIAM  and FANNY

I think that you should obtain a transcritionof them as they will give you a full list of children and whether they are alive or deceased

regards

Robyn

unless, the date on the nsw bdm is wrong, that is where i found the only information on catherine, is fanny anothr name for francis

Deidre the death of Catherine on NSW death index is 1906 not 1901.  Perhaps check for yourself ;D

If you search just using name CURTIS, ship HORNET  and year 1857 on
http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au/index_search.asp?searchid=24
You will see the family arriving in Victoria.

There is this birth and baptism on IGI

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true

GODREY Fanny
Birth 29 Nov 1827
Baptism 27 Dec 1827 Saint Botolph Without Aldersgate, London, London, England
Father  William GODFREY
Mother  Fanny

Cheers
