Hi,

My name is Bronwyn and my Great, Great, Great Grandmother was also Hohipaea Nga Puhi. We have one image of her with the Moko dressed in European clothing. We would really like to learn more about her and where her and Alexander Mcgregor may be buried. Hohipaea is the link to our Maori heritage in our family history. We have information that she was a Maori Chiefness but are unsure if this is true. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you:)

Hi Bronwyn,
I tried to PM your but it says your inbox is full. I'm also a descendant of Hohipaea and wondering if you would be so kind as to share a copy of the photo you mention with me as I don't believe i've seen it before and would love too.
P.S Kia Ora whanau :) my lineage;
-Hohipaea and Alex. James McGregor
- James/Hemi Alex. McGregor and Heneti Te Ohaere
- Lena/Rina Kitemate McGregor and John/Jack Savage
- My Nana was Christina Savage who married Ivor Birt

Thanks everyone who has shared on this thread, some great reading!

Hi Jessm63,

Thank you for your reply and not too sure how to use this platform with ease. I have cleared my message so hopefully you can send me your email address as I am also unable to send a message to you. Would be great to connect!
Thanks, Bronwyn

Hi Jessm63 and Bronwyn, and welcome to RootsChat  :)

Bronwyn might need to make one more post to activate the Personal Message (PM) facility.

Just a post with a smiley will be fine, Bronwyn, then you can exchange information and email addresses.

If either of you have any questions about using the RootsChat forum please post them here and I’ll give you some guidance.

Hey there

Have you got much information on Alexander McGregor

My Granddads mum is Rose (putiputi) McGregor and his dad was Fredwick Durrant.

I'm trying to look back on my family history and our descendant and ansestory.

I would love to know for myself where my blood line came from and how it come to be. I would love this information for my children and future grandchildren we are all desendents or linked to Alexander McGregor

Hello J J Julian

... Welcome to RootsChat.   :)

It seems that many of the earlier participants in this thread, have not visited this forum for quite a number of years.

The most recent to login to RootsChat was "jessm63" on 7 May 2023, so hopefully they may have been alerted to the fact that another posting, (yours), has been made to this thread.

I hope there is a reply for you here, soon.
