Can't decipher names - Completed
« on: Monday 15 June 09 16:12 BST (UK) »
The Ancestry.co transcription appears to be full of errors for this place. In the list I see two heads? Can any one transcribe this for me please?

There are two heads, usually there would be a / mark after the first family if two families are sharing one house then   // after the whole household.

In this case, as Thomas Goldie is wife's single son, I guess that Joseph Goldie, the other head, is the wife's married son and living with parents

Do you need a full transcription of the whole household?

If you have a look at the 1881 census
you'll see that the family is Edward Dovey and Rebecca, Joseph Golding is listed as 'son by former husband',  Thomas & Reuben Golding are 'stepsons' and then there are 2 Dovey sons.

Do you have the earlier census?

I've just found 1871 when Rebecca is married to Thomas Golding, if you'd like the details
