I am trying to decipher the forth line of my relative's headstone.  Would appreciate any help please!

Looks like PVT to me too. If he was in the army, maybe PVT for Private?

Edit: In fact, I think the line begins PVT 1 CL - Private, First Class?

I'm wondering if, under the PVT 1 Cl, it says "79 Div"?

Could it possibly also say "VOLUNTEER" after "PVT 1 CL" ?

(Suggestion made in complete ignorance of US army units)
