WARNES
« on: Monday 15 June 09 23:10 BST (UK) »
Hi :) My dad's grandparents his mother's and father's were both Warnes, it seems seperate families, but the further back l get the closer the families get in location , 20 miles apart at one point, and so feel that if l get even further they'll meet up somewhere. Would help if l could see the igi's for SWAFFHAM. ( has them down for Yorkshire)

Here's the 2 families round about the same time :-

Henry Warnes b 1805 Briningham nfk d 1883 Walsingham m Elizabeth ?

children :- Margaret 1836, Richard 1838, James 1843, Amy 1845 & Elizabeth 1849 all born at Gunthorpe.

Samuel Warnes b 1816 Litcham nfk d 1886 Litcham  m Anne Goose 1835

children :- John 1836, James 1838, Harriet 1839, James 1842, Emily 1845, Samuel 1850, Mark 1853 & Jesse 1860 all born at Litcham

Any help much appreciated :)

Thanks x

1861 - 585
1871 - 709

Thanks for that, and l know, but the 2 families started in Norfolk and maybe have a common link further back, then go their seperate ways - Henry's descendants going to Wales where my Grandad was born, and he meets my Nanna in Yorkshire who's Mam was a Warnes and they seem to come from pretty much the same place. Would just be interested in finding out :)

Hi :)

Thank you!
l have Roger's family 2 more generations back with his father Joseph m Mary? Joseph christened 19.5.1751. Parents of Joseph John & Martha ? . Joseph was christened at Brandon Parva. Now l found a john and a Martha marrying but in 1757, so think it's not them as James was born 1751.

Thank you about Henry had trouble finding anything there. But in looking at Warnes in the area in igi's l came across William and Susanna and there was pedigree going back further.

Great help!  Thank you both so much :)

Regards

Andrea
