Roodepoort Old Cemetery
« on: Thursday 18 June 09 19:50 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Would anyone know of a way to contact this cemetery as we believe a Grt Grandfather is buried there. Also his wife.
His death certificate gives "intended place of burial" as Roodeport cemetery. Also found on his wifes death register.
We see there is and "old" and "new" given when "Googling" this and as he died in 1920 (his wife 1922) we assume it would be the "old" one.
We would love to get a picture of the grave if possible.
Melia

 :)

Hello Melia

Google Roodepoort Municipality, in Gauteng Province of South Africa.

The Municipality will be responsible for the graveyards and usually keep detailed maps of the positioning of graves.

1977 Roodepoort gained its own independent status separate from the Johannesburg Municipality.

Cheers
