... and I thought I was doing well having found my Grt Grt Grt Grandparents on my Dad's side ... you mean there are more out there ?

I can just visualise a little hand sticking out of the middle of your pyramid waving ... yoo hoo I'm here, surrounded by sixty four great grannies, get me outta here.  I only wanted to know where me Great Grandad came from, and its taken me over twelve months to discover the answer, so I shall be a little wizened old lady before I get to line six of your pyramid.

"Blood-Grouping Tests in Undisputed Paternity Proceedings", Sussman and Schatkin, Journal of the American Medical Association, Vol. 164, No. 3, page 249.

In summation....Paternity litigants in 67 cases submitted to blood testing AFTER the men voluntarily admitted to paternity. By using the A-B-O, M-N and Rh-Hr blood typing systems, it was found that 12 of the 67 men who admitted paternity were probably NOT the actual fathers. That's 18%.  :o

A bit scary when you think that in each generation the paternity of almost one in five children may be questionable.

By the time you get back to the gggg's, a huge proportion of anyone's tree probably has very little to do with them. :(

Shall we give up now???? :) :) :)
