Haven't the foggiest Paul the scientists didn't say - but as there were only four women they were obviously keeping one man very happy or having to fight the hoards off ;D

As Jinks said, the solution to this mathematical puzzle lies in incest.  You just have to look at the Royal Family and see how many time Prince Charles is realted to Queen Victoria and if you follow the original poster's analysis he should have 32 ggg parents but probably only has about 6 :)

Was it against the law to marry your first cousin in 1900 in England?

Just wondering why my grandfather fabricated a story of being abandoned in an orphanage and then bought up by "Italians" (trying not to laugh :D)
