What happened to Caroline Allen??

Hello all,

I have a head pickler and need some help please.
My G Aunt Caroline Allen was born in 1887 in Penygraig.
In 1905 I found a marriage for her to either William Edward Jones or a William James G Nicholas.
A few years ago I contacted the g grandson of William James and was informed he never married a Caroline Allen, which left her husband to be Mr Jones.
After that I found no record of a death for her etc, and until the 1911 census, did not pursue the matter further.
In the 1911 census I found my G G Grandmother Mary Allen, (carolines mum) her husband david, there Daughter Mary Maria (my G Grandmother) and a child named Elvira Jones who was listed as Grand daughter  aged 5 all living at 250 Ynyscynon Road.
Along with them were my G Uncle James Allen, his wife Mary and there 3 children living at the same address but listed as different families.
I looked for Caroline Jones but could find none that matched her, so decided to see who lived next door to my G Grandparents and there children.
By chance I noticed that there was yet another family listed sepearetly under that address, and this family were David Davies, his wife CAROLINE Davies and there son Celwyn.
I know it may be coincidence but that would be one hell of a coincidence to have a Caroline living there....now the dilemma.
It states they have been married for 6 years, yet I can find no record of a marriage anywhere near 1904/05/06.
I have searched phonetically and have searched the whole of Glamorgan for a marriage but still nothing.
I always assumed Caroline was the mother of little Elvira Jones who was 5 in 1911 so her age matches up, but it seems a spanner has been thrown in the works!
Can anyone help find Caroline Allen/Jones/Davies???

Hi Carole,

Please accept my apologies for the late reply; I have had some problems getting online....bloominbg bt!
The census info for Caroline Davies matches Caroline Allen exactly, born 1887, in Glamorgan Rhondda, married 6 years....just the surname is different.
Cledwyn is 3 months old on the Census.

A copy of the birth cert will show her maiden name but there is a David Davies marriage in 1906 in Neath and Caroline Hughes is on the same page

However - I have checked the Welsh 1891 and 1901 and there is no Caroline Hughes b 1886-1888 Glamorgan on either so it's looking a good bet
