Barkers of Aston Botterell

John Barker, s/o William and Sarah Corser Barker, was born Aug. 26,1815.  He married Frances Lowe, d/o Mary Lowe,  in June of 1839.  By 1851 they were living at Bridgenorth where John was a priest in the Catholic Apostolic Church.  John died ca. 1852.   Frances died Feb. 3,1898 and has a headstonein Wellington Cemetery.  Their daughter Frances married John Bidlake whose son George married Margaret Kynoch and moved to Canada in 1905.  Anything that can be added about the Barker family would be much appreciated.

In 1861 young John C is visiting some other Barkers - also a 10 yr old Mary E, I wonder if she is another child of John and FRances?

As they are the only childre, it looks as if John C and Mary brought their governess with them ( I see they had one in 1851 too), so I would imagine it was a fairly long term visit.

Thank you.  I've no idea what William Barker did for a living.  He seems to be fairly well off as they had hired help.   I think that Ann was their aunt, the widow of their father's brother, Richard Barker.  By 1881 the mother Frances was living in Wellington, Shropshire.  Her daughter Frances had married John Bidlake (1862) and was a solicitor there.  I wonder if the mother was in Wellington in 1871?

Who are William and Richard?

John (the priest) you say has father, William. Where did that info come from? Do you have Johns marriage cert - if so that should give an occuption for William (to answer Jackies question, and therefore help confirm that the other christenings are siblings of John, children of the same William and Sarah)

So Johns brother, Richard (Jackie found chr) married an Ann, and she is widowed and caring for John the priests children in 1861?

That Richard's father is William, same as John the priests father.

Dont  think about trying to get William's father until you are sure that all the later generations are sorted  with no assumptions!! One step at a time!
