We were told Agnes had a good education (University?), she tutored in accounting, and sang Opera. She married Charles Edward Corfield in Brisbane 8/10/1886 and travelled through out South East Queensland, finally living in Imbil, she was buried in the Gympie cemetery 1923. The family had broken up after Elizabeth Gardner had died and her husband William had remarried. His second wife(name unknown) had 2 sons William and Norman, not sure if they were not from a previous marriage.
*Women were not admitted to Melbourne University until 1881 and even then their admissions were confined to the arts. By 1887 they were admitted to medicine.

Have given you Wm's 2nd marriage reg and birth of two children.
I cannot find William JAMES in any Melbourne Directories from 1857 to 1884 nor a reference to what you seem to be referring to as a property/home. Irene Place is a street in Prahran that runs between Errol Street and Williams Road. Just google maps with the address.
The eldest son use to look after Irene Place until the second wife family took it over.
Surely his 2nd wife Elizabeth WEIR and family [they had two sons] were William JAMES' family as well.
It would be interesting to see the address used by William JAMES on his marriage certificate in 1882.
