I am seeking information on Margaret Wark, mother of Mary, born Kamesburgh, Scotland in May 1866. Mary's father was Duncan & they lived in North Bute.
mary emigrated to Australia in 1889. I am hoping anyone can help.

Gemjay, Welcome to roostchat :D

Maybe  as you are seeking info relating to Scotland, ou'd get a better response posting this on The Scotland Board.   To find this at the top of the page , click on Forum button second from left and scroll down until you come to Scotland.
I'm sure you'll find some one there who can help.

Fly in the ointment in more recent censuses  :-\

Margt Wask 55, b. Glasgow
Margt Wask 30, b. North Bute
Jane Wask 5, granddaughter, b. North Bute

Address: Gren St Tharks Land, North Bute

Gemjay, there is another post on another forum that states Margaret married a James Bruce (not sure where your reference to Duncan comes from). By 1881 census, there is this entry:

Jas Bruce 31, Herring Fisher, b. North Bute
Margt Bruce 42, b. North Bute
Mary Wark 15, stepdaughter, b. North Bute

Address: Back St Cot, North Bute

Hi, I came across your posting quite by accident. My great great grandmother was Margaret Brock. she married Robert Pogue in 1823 in Kilmore Church of Ireland near Cavan in County Cavan so would have been born near the turn of the century. As far as I know she had seven children. George, Robert and John emigrated to Australia in the 1860s. My family came from Dumfries in Scotland around about 1700 and finally settled in County Cavan. Maybe she is the person you are looking for.
