Albert and Gladys Dargue
« on: Wednesday 01 July 09 11:22 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am looking for information on my grandmothers brother Albert Dargue who emmigrated to Canada (Toronto) i think before 1940.  He married Gladys ? and i do know they had a daughter.  Gladys came to England with her Granddaughter in 1980 to a wedding.

If anyone can please help with dates of deaths or marraiges I would be most gratefull.

Thank you for looking at this.

Kind Regards

It's always difficult tracing into modern times, especially since Canada is such a large country.  This is a link to the Toronto Library Ask A Question.  They are more than willing to look up names in directories for you.  That might help establish a location and timeline.
http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/ask_index.jsp

Also use Canada411.ca and enter your last name.  It brings up 4 possibilities all in the Toronto area.  You might have to do it the old fashioned way and either call or write a few letters and see what response you get.

Thank you for that information.  I will see what i can find.  I have looked at the directory and found 2 Dargues in Toronto but i don't know if he had a son to carry on the family name.
I may ring them as there are only 2 of them.

Hi, I have sent you a pm. I can see now that Annie is probably her sister.

I have no information about Gladys and what her maiden name was.  I do not even know if she was Canadian or if they married in the UK.

Sorry

Thank you for the info.  Albert was my grandmothers brother.  When my grandfather died she visited them in Canada and when I married Gladys and her granddaughter came over to the wedding.  This was before I started the family tree so did not get the info from the horses mouth as it were.  Once again thanks
