Hi Kris,

Thanks for the update. I have noticed that a lot of families gave children the same name after one died.

In your previous answer were the dates birth or Baptism dates?

Many thanks, as once again I have been helped by you.

Cheers

Hi Annette,

I'm also researching Thomas Bawden Bryar's family and have some info on when he arrived in Australia.  He came out to South Australia as an assisted immigrant in 1857 on board the ship Sumner, which arrived 21 August 1857.

Passenger List:

Thomas Bawden Bryar  aged 24 resident of Penzance Cornwall - Miner
Mary Ann Bryar             aged 26
Elizabeth Bryar             aged 3
Susan Jane Bryar         aged 1
Esther Ann Bryar          infant

His father Richard Bryar also emigrated to Sth Australia onboard the ship Monsoon, which arrived at Port Adelaide on the 17th March 1857.  They were assisted passengers as well.

Members of the family who emigrated were:

Richard Bryar       aged 43  Occupation Miner
Mary Ann Bryar    aged 43
Elizabeth Bryar    aged 11
Richard Bryar      aged 8

Although daughters Alice Jane and Mary Ann Bryar also emigrated to Sth Australia, they are not listed on the index for the Monsoon.   Whether this is an error or not I don't know, they may well have travelled separately, although I haven't found them on any other passenger lists for assisted emigrants.

Hope that my info is of some help to you.

cheers Kaz

Hi Kaz,
 :
Thanks for the information. Any bit of info is a great help.
Interesting to see that they both came out different times but in the same year.

Many thanks again,

Cheers Annette :)
