I've found the marriage!!

Edward Coleman born Gibralter married Hannah Lainson born Suffolk in .....wait for it......1883!

Ref = 2209

Well I do not  know what to make of it.

Edward Coleman told some porkies

He said that he was a Batcholer which was not true as he was still married to Hannah 1
He said he was 59 yrs old ie born 1824
Hannah 2  49 born 1834
So their age is correct

Parents for Edward were John COLEMAN and Rachel
Parents for Hannah were Samuel  PAYNE and Hannah PAYNE
Yes Hannah's maiden name was also PAYNE

They married on 7 June 1883 Berkley St Carlton

Interesting to note the witness to the marriage for Edward and Hannah 2 was Hannah's sone William Lainson and Helen Lainson his wife

Hi Newbe,
To me the most interesting thing about the marriage certificate is his statement that he was a Batchelor.

This implies that Hannah 2 was very well aware of the full circumstances of the marriage she was entering.
If he had said Widower, I could believe that he told his new bride that her mother had died in NSW or some other such tale, but to say Batchelor clearly says that she was in full knowledge of the facts.
