George WELLS / Susan STOCK

Susan has a sister Caroline who married my Gt Uncle William Last. I have only managed to research Susan ( Susanna) up to 1851 whereas I have all Carolines dtls up to 1911. My mother's maiden name is Last so when I came across a JOHN LAST from Tillingham , Essex it seemed strange , as all my Lasts originated from there but I had no info on this John.

As it turns out , this John is the brother of my Gt G/father so this will be another line to investigate but I think this will more involved . Quite a few intrigues lurking I think! Children " out of wedlock" etc!!!

Received the marriage cert today.

George Wells aged 19 Labourer - residence at time of marriage -  possibly North Famlidge / Fambridge  ?? not clear on cert.
Susannah Stock aged 18 also at same residence at time of marriage.

Father = David Wells / George Stock both labourers.

Marriage date 30 Sept 1858 Parish Church , North Famlidge/Fambridge , Essex.

North Fambridge is just south of Stow Maries , Essex so this could be the marriage after all.

Will have to check out George Stock now.

I don't think this marraige can be correct as my Susan Stock was christened 24 Jul 1831 which would have made her 27 years old in 1858 and not 18 as stated in the marriage cert. The christening def states the her parents are John and Ann Stock.

Back to the drawing board !!

Hello paul1947,
I realize this is an old posting, but, you might have just broken down a brick wall for me. I have been looking for evidence of George A Wells and Susannah. George was born in Stanford le Hope Essex and married Susannah ? born in North Fanbridge Essex. The marriage was before 1862, so, I think the marriage certificate is the one I am looking for. I have their daughter Rebecca married to Richard Oliver in Swanscombe Kent 20th December 1886. In turn their daughter Hilda Rebecca married John Smith in Clerkenwell London. (not going there, that side of the family can remain a mystery.) If you still have the details of George and Susannah would be grateful for such. If both one and the same we are searching, I have details of Rebecca Wells married to Richard Oliver and her children. Only have the families of Rebecca's and Richard's daughter Hilda up to date.  I have come across another George Wells and Susan which I shall chase for you.
