Hi, I am also trying to find out how the Beavans of Cherry Orchard became the Beavan-Harris's. My mother was Margaret Beavan-Harris. Ralph was my grandfather. I remember playing at Cherry Orchards as a child when Doug Jones was the owner and Millicent's (known to us as Mrs Jones) daughter Marjorie was my dinner lady. I am trying to also figure out why Ellen Arthur, George Harris's mother was in the workhouse in 1911 having married in 1907 and then she had Ralph in 1917. Where did George go and what did he do given he had enough money to come back and buy Cherry Orchards. Such a lot to learn.
