Looks like the recordd here-
Patrick NOONAN 1851 Thurles registration district volume 10 page 387
Margaret CONOLLY   "
Note spelling of Margaret's surname.
With the above details you can order the marriage certificate (but do NOT mention your source for registration references as GRO have been known to turn down applications that mention LDS references!)
www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm

Just to warn your though- Irish marriage certificates are not like Australian ones. Details on certificate will be date and place of marriage- name, residence (at time of marriage), marital status, occupation of bride and groom and whether or not of full age along with names and occupations of their father- names of 2 witness and name of officiant. It will not usually include exact ages (unless underage) or birthdate and birthplace, mothers' names, relationship (if any) to witnesses.

Hello Shakel

Just be aware that this may not be a match as Tipperary and Galway are quite far apart.  Also, there are many families in Galway called Conneely, Connolly etc.  It is a very common name, so I would try to get the best match if I could.
Many Noonan's also in Galway.
Good luck on the IFH website.
Do you have any idea of the parish?

Good point, Lucy about the distance between Thurles and Galway and the common surnames. If the marriage information (from Australian records?) is correct then it's possible the marriage took place in a Catholic ceremony and would not be recorded in civil index.

Good morning!
Just had a thought - they had a child, Ellen, who must have been born, and died, before they left for Australia as I can't find any reference to her anywhere in Australia. Ellen was on there 5th child's birth certificate as being a sibling (dead).
Is there any way of finding her birth? It may pinpoint the right Margaret and Patrick.

I am assuming Ellen would have been born sometime before Civil registration in 1864 - the IFHF site show just one Ellen Noonan born between  1851-1859 and that is in Tipperary!

Ellen Joanna Noonan 1857, Co. Tipperary

(just to note that the IFHF database does not include all counties or possibly all the parish records for a county.. so a search may not cover everyone.)

I will figure out what parish/religion that is and update you when I find that out.

Thanks for that, Shane.
Ellen would have been born before 1852, and died before 1857.
The Ellen you have noted - is that a death?? and does it note the parents?

the Ellen listed was RC and born in Clonmel -- so does not seem to fit the CofI marriage

Sorry I can only see the index which just lists the basic details - name, year, county - you have to pay to see each record

if Ellen was born before 1852 does that other marriage possibility fit ?

I'll have a quick scan for earlier Ellen baptisms..
