Jean/Jane Jolly Walker, Edzell

Hello Again,

Has anyone run across a Jean/Jane Jolly who married James Walker 11 Jun 1836 at Edzell? appears they had the following children...

Mary 1836(believe she died prior to 1846 but have not located it yet)
Isobel 1838
Jean 1840
David 1842
John 1844 (my relative)
Mary 1846
Thomas 1849

I have a Jean and Janet Jolly on my tree but they were born in 1778 &1772 respectively.  They both came from Edzell and married two brothers - David & John Low.  I don't have any more information but I wonder if they are connected with your Jean/Jane Jolly.  Any ideas?

Hi there....

Thank you for your reply.....there is a good possiblity they could be related...unfortunately I only have her date of birth and Marriage date....
She married James Walker, 11Jun1836...I have her listed as Jane Jolly, however she is listed on some entries as "Jean" as well...my understanding at this point is that it was common to interchange Jean for Jane, similar to Nancy for Agnes....but I stand to be corrected.  to date this is all the information I have located on her....as well as her birth, 5 May 1814 at Edzell, it appears she was deceased prior to the marriage of her son John Walker on 2 Jun 1876.  At this time the Walker family was in Kierrimuir....sorry I can't offer much more information.... I hav'nt had much time of late to work on the tree.
