FAO jillruss

Hi Jill,
I believe you have Hurst PRs.  I am searching for Kentfield, Kenfill, Canfield and other spellings in Hurst in the late 1680s.  Am wondering if you have anything?
Thank you,
Abiam

Hi Abiam,

These are the entries I found in the 1680s:

Baptisms

Oct 4 1681 William Kenfield s/o James
Jan 21 1682/3 William Kenfield s/o James

Marriages

Jun - 1681 James Kinfield & Elizabeth Edsall
(no exact date)
Oct 8 1688 Jane Kenfield & Thomas Millam

Burial

Oct 6 1681 William Kenfield s/o James.

I hope that helps.

Jill

That's great, thank you Jill.

I wonder do your records go into the 1700s I am grasping at straws as I have a William Kentfield born 1775 in Binfield who could have sprung from anywhere!  And Ancestry have a tree with a Kentfield born in Hurst which as you know is quite near.

Thank you for your time, :)
Abiam

Hi Abiam,

Yes - the records go up almost to present day.

I'll give you what I can find in the 1700s, only they'll be in alphabetical order rather than chronological.

Baptisms

David Kemfield  Mar 2 1752/3 s/o John & Mary
Dinah Kemfield Aug 4 1751 d/o John & Mary
James Kemfield Dec 28 1748 s/o John & Mary
Mary Kemfield Dec 28 1748 d/o John & Mary

Charles Kempfield Jun 20 1767 s/o John & Rebecca
Henry Kempfield Nov 3 1754 s/o John & Mary
John Kempfield Mar 7 1711/12  s/o John of Ruscombe

Marriages

1741 Oct 7 John Canfield & Mary Shirley
1763 Dec 19 John Kentfield papermaker & Dorcas Winch Wit: Thomas Egleton, John Pidgeon

Burials

1719 Oct 19 Elizabeth Kempfield w/o William
1722 Aug 7 William Kempfield
1758 Apr 19 William Kempfield s/o John & Mary
1787 Jan 28 John Kentfield
1795 Jan 29 Rebecca Kentfield

Does that come up with any answers? The one which mentions Ruscombe reminds me - it's very close to Hurst and I've found some of mine there, but the PRs are not on the IGI so very difficult to check.

Jill

Thanks again you are a star!   :)  I don't know yet whether it will help but I'll print off and digest.
Cheers Abiam
