BURNLEY, LANCASHIRE
« on: Wednesday 15 July 09 17:13 BST (UK) »
I'd like to chat with someone familiar with Burnley and Lancashire.  I have several questions revolving ancestors who lived in and around Burnley, schools, where they're buried, as well as others who lived in Briersfield, Lancashire.  At least one of them attended Hartley College, Manchester University for seminary training.

Five years ago, I chatted with neil.s.  He was a great help to me regarding some DAWE / BAWDEN / BOWDEN family members.  Related to them is the HARRIS family.

I hope someone will be able to be of assistance.  You may contact me by personal message or through the list, as you desire.  Thank you.  RedFox

Thanks, kris and mosiefish.  It's been awhile since I've been on RootsChat, so hope the message I sent mosiefish gets through.  Basically, I'll need to get back to you with my questions.  I appreciate the input from both of you.

Just noticed you referred to Briersfield, Lancashire...this is in fact BRIERFIELD. It is a small town about 3 miles north of Burnley. I lived there for the first 30 years of my life.

Cheers

Hi Redfox,
If I can be of any help with regard to places in or around Burnley I will do my best. I've lived just outside Burnley for the past 20 years. I don't have a great deal of knowledge about the history of the town (perhaps I might learn a few things along the way!) My own family links are mostly around the town of Colne (about 6 miles from Burnley).
Please let me know if I can be of any help to you,
Lancs-lassie

If you are interested in Burnley then the Lancashire Online Parish Clerk web site can be of help. There ia a pretty full and up-to-date listing of burials in Burnley Cemetry among other things. Hope that helps.
