Hello
I'm trying to find the family of my GG-Grandmother Elizabeth Heyes who's sole facts I have from her marriage certifcate on the 25th August 1911 to Albert Jackson in Prescot, St Helens.
She lists her age as 26, no job, her father is Thomas Heyes whos job is 'Day wage man in a coal mine'
Her address at time of marriage is hard to make out but i've got it to Raglan Street, St Helens. At first I thought it could be Raplan Street but a search of the two on 1911 census gives Raglan but no Raplan. Of interest there is a Heyes family in Raglan Street, but Head is a James Heyes and there is no Elizabeth. Could they be relations?
I traced James back to the 1881 census easily and he is still at home but there is no brother called Thomas. James was 16 then and the eldest so Thomas could have left home by then. Too many possible Thomas' on 1881 census who are Coal Miner's, old enough to be Elizabeth's father - of course its hard to pin one down in 1881 because Elizabeth if age correct on marriage certifcate is not to be born for 4/5 years.
So I would be very grateful if anyone could search for 5/6 year Elizabeth Heyes (Could well be Hayes as James mentioned above was down as Hayes in 1881 but Heyes in 1901 and 1911) - Would need to be living with father Thomas and hopefully he would be Coal Miner. However when were things that simple!
Thankyou
Jonathan
