staying on the Bullas line, if this is the chap seen in the 1901, he's a bit older than stated !

well, this is the chap shown in the Birth Index (transcribed Millas) - but whether its the man shown in 1901 .... you'd best get his marriage Cert (Cannock District at least looks good !) to check Fathers name. I cant find a reference to Kates / Wates Hill at the moment .... maybe somebody local will know ?

1881 - RG11/2784; Folio: 49; Page: 49 - Cannock
Hednesford ? Road

Daniel Bullas 37  Head Coal Miner born Dudley
Phoebe Bullas 39  Wife born Rowley Regis
John Bullas 16  son Fitter ~~~ Dudley
Jesse Bullas 14  son do
Phoebe Bullas 7  dau do
Joseph Bullas 5  son Cannock
Daniel Bullas 3  son do
Sarah A. Bullas 2  dau do
William Bullas    son do

May J. Roberts 13  Servant

In 1871 -  RG10/3015; Folio: 88; Page: 2 -Dudley

There was also a 1 year old Nathaniel .....  :(

Transcribed Bullar in 1891 - Jessie not at home tho ....

Jessie, aged 24 is lodging with the Bethall household in West Brom.

RG12/2272; Folio 140; Page 27

Again using Kates/Wates Hill as his PoB, but qualified as Worcester ! - he is a Shoeing Smith .....

I think you do need that Marriage Cert to check his Fathers name .... we may have the wrong family altogether in 1881 and earlier ...

Added: Looks OK, borders of Worcs & Staffs, and Tati found Kates Hill area of Dudley   :)

If this is the right marraige (seems OK year-wise and overall area) then theres some questions to answer !

Marriages Sep 1864

Bullas  Daniel    W. Bromwich  v6b p862
Bullas  Phoebe     W. Bromwich  v6b p862
Chettle  Mary     W. Bromwich  6b 862

there is a male name missing from the transcription, but presumably 'he' would have married Mary Chettle ?

hopefully an enumeration / transcription error copying from the schedule then ?

altho, having looked more closely, Dudley was on the county border .....

Hello Pastmaster

There seems to be a lot of Millers in my other side of the family (Northey's/Sowden's) so its nice to see a different trade appearing.

Kind Regards
