I cant find evidence of a birth
« on: Tuesday 21 July 09 21:29 BST (UK) »
I have a marriage certificate of a marriage of Henry William parks to Ann Ball 24 march 1856 in the district of Stepney Middlesex
Ann Ball is 24 so I guess she was born around 1832 her fathers name is Uriah Ball occupation Basket Maker. I have traced  Uriah Ball to Warminster Wiltshire Ann does not appear on the1841 census Uriah cannot be found on a 1851 census. Nowhere can I find the birth of Ann Ball, I have tried baptisms to no avail please can someone put me out of my misery and find some evidence of her birth

Hi and welcome to Rootschat.

The IGI has a submitted record for the christening of Ann Ball on 14th Dec 1831 at St Dennis, Warminster, Wilts.  Father Uriah Ball, mother Elizabeth Warren.

This record can be found on the FamilySearch site but submitted records should be treated with caution, extracted records are far more reliable.  You really need to check the actual parish records.

Hope this helps

Sue

By the way, there is a large chunk of Warminster missing from Ancestry in the 1851 census which would explain why you can`t find Uriah and family.  It isn`t missing altogether though, it is just that particular site.

Mo

Mo thanks for that info, just by luck I am researching this family with a newly found relative in Australia, she has found Uriah Ball on the 1851 census with her account on genealogy.co.uk and has emailed it to me. I now have yet another problem finding both William and Job Ball's births on the FBMD and the IGI, can anyone help me with this? on the 1861 census Job is 4 I have found him on the 1871 census under John Ball but not on the births under John, William is 2 on the 1861, I have found him later no problem just cant understand why I cant find them both
