Census records should be your next port of call.  Work backwards from William's death date and look for them.  William is obviously alive in 1861.  Was he a piano dealer?  If so he was then married to a Mary A, 10 years his junior with a step daughter and a daughter of their own.  (RG9/399/100 p 51).  The index shows that he married in Greenwich RD Mary Anne Lowndes Freeman in Dec qtr 1857.

I haven't managed to find them in 1851 or 1841 at the moment.  If Elizabeth was still alive in 1851, then her age and birthplace would be recorded which would help considerably.

Hi there

Yes I looked in 1861 census but I was looking for a clerk as it says on marriage cert of his daughter that he was a Clerk in1859.

We now know that William Poole married Elizabeth Sarah Perry in 19/5/1830 Fleet Street London, or her name might be Sarah Elizabeth Perry b1817 Gravend Kent.

Thanks Alison

I would treat the birth of Sarah Elizabeth |Perry in 1817 with caution she would only on been 13 at her marriage

From the London Gazette http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/ I found mention of William being deputy Superintendant Registrar for Camberwell Sep 1837.  By 1845 (bankruptcy proceedings) he is in Toxteth Park, Liverpool ie. formerly of Camberwell Surrey (vestry clerk), then of 33 & 34 Bishopsgate St, London (solicitor's clerk), then of 48 Park Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool Lancashire, then of 33 Toxteth Street, Toxteth Park (solicitor's clerk), now (May 1845) of 182 Mill Street, Toxteth park (accountant, solicitor's clerk, estate agent) - an insolvent debtor.

Still couldn't positively identify him or his family in 1841/1851 :-\

Who were the witnesses to Catherine Elizabeth's marriage - could either of them have been a relative - and is there any address given for her on the certificate?

Hi there

On wedding cert it say that Catherine Poole lives at 20 union street and Henry who she is marrying lives at 29 union street.

The witnesses are George Knight and a Clara Knott.

That is worth looking into to see if they are related in any way to either of them.

Thanks Alison  :)
