Birth records

Hi trying to find birth records of a William Hamilton. All I know is that he married a lady called Caroline and they had a son called Henry George Hamilton. Henry was born at sea in the Bay of Calcutta.

I have looked in 1841 census but cant find William anywhere. I know they were at sea in 1838 as this is when Henry was born.

Also have found out that William Hamilton died in 1859 as on Henry marriage cert it say William is deceased and he is down as a servant.

Can anybody help find Williams birth at all

Seeing as we dont know where or when he was born, I dont think anyone will be able to find anything!

So lets get some facts.
He had a son Henry in 1838 whilst 'at sea'
He has not been found in 1841
Has Henry been found in 1851 with his parents? If so, what does William give as his place of birth and age?
How do you know William married a Caroline? do you know when or where this was?
How do you know he dies in 1859? Have you got his death cert? If so what age does that give? Or is that  Henry marries in 1859 and his father is noted as deceased, thus meaning he died before 1859 rather than in 1859?

How did you discover Henry's parents names?

I found it on a site called India Office Family History Site.

All it say is that Henry George Hamilton was born at sea and dad is called William Hamilton and that he is a Groom and Valet, Hampton Court London and his wife is called Caroline
