Even though other members have managed to research family history i would like to my personal family history after a strange encounter in the local opticians. A gentleman asked my mother if she was the daughter of ..... and she was and the gentleman turned round and said I'm your uncle unfortunately he was then called away.

None of my mothers family will talk of there father and my Nan is no longer alive to talk about her husband and her parents.

Will i get very far, Ive tried find things on my dads family too but i search my Nana and she doesn't exist.

Hi and  a very warm welcome to Rootschat.

If you have your mother's maiden name and her date of birth and your Nana's name and approx age of death and year and place or marriage details it should be possible to find her somewhere. If you want some help on your Nana I am sure your brick wall will be solved on here.

However as it may involve others that are still alive much may have to be done by private message which we can do when you get a couple of more posts.
