Timekeeper in South Africa COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 23 July 09 10:29 BST (UK) »
Hi all  :)

Could someone tell me what a timekeeper did in 1909?

Did he work for the railways?

Thanks

Ouma

Hello Ouma

Wish I knew the answer and could help you..................but could he possibly have been timing the horse racing?

Or held (and operated!) the Stop Watch at athletic events, or any other sports events where timing was vital?

Cheers

Hello Danchaslyn

After posting I thought it was a bit silly asking about a timekeeper as thinking about it logically its

one who keeps time  ;D it maybe in a factory, horse race, athletics, railways.

Bit of a blond moment  ;D  ;D

Hello Blondie Ouma  ;)

Well, my partner did suggest one who clocks staff in and out of a factory, but I'm sure that person has another name!    ;D

Will ask a very elderly uncle if he knows.................and get back to you! ???

Cheers
