let me put it this way
  • Gertrude was doing this work for a firm of solicitors before she formed her own firm.
  • Gertrude was the senior partner

as I am sure you all know to set up a firm in 1923 it could not be named after a female with a German sounding  surname.

Make your own mind up

follow "HeirHunter" on twitter as we start to film the 4 series

Or a Latvian one either!I take it Mr. Hooper was one of the other partners then?

Sorry to ask so many questions, but HH has got me very interested.

Has anyone tried the new GRO service yet?  You just ring them up for a certificate of someone born in "England" and they fax the certificate to you the following day.  So much easier than the present system.  :D

LOL my mum (Who DOESNT do the family history by the way) made a comment that made me giggle about that 'faxed' certificate ..................... "How convenient the fax machine had the right coloured & watermarked paper in it"
