red leader

can anyone tell me what a Red Leader is, ive found this on one of my familys certificate, but im unsure what kind of job this is.

hi Lemonstaw, you might do better to post this on the occupation interests board. I do know that red lead had quite a lot of uses in engineering and other trades, but I dont know offhand about a " redleader" [cant use it any more, its extremely toxic]john.
