In reply to an earlier post, Henry Allingham's funeral will be held on the 30th July. He has family in the US - they delay is to allow them time to get to the UK.

I think it is quite fitting that the last three British veterans - who all turned out to the cenotaph for the 90th anniversary of the end of WW1 - all died in the same year.

Although there are officially three WW1 veterans left, in my view there is only one - that being Claude Choules (a British veteran who has lived in Australia since 1926). He is the only validated veteran to have actually seen active service.

It would appear that one is British, (but resident in Australia) & two are American.
